Well, we are still swimming here in Alabama as the rain continues. As one teacher put it today, “I am sick of gray skies”. Unfortunately, the forecast calls for more and more and more. Thankfully, we are not in a typical flood zone so only minor flooding has occurred so far. Stay safe out there!
We enjoyed watching the basketball game last night. For years, I spent my nights in a gym watching my children play. Then when Dustin started coaching, I went again. He has given up coaching for the time being so we don’t go as often but I still enjoy the games and getting to see our sweet Daisey Kent. She was a trooper, even while wearing her stylish headphones!
Using my own closet, I chose 10 shoes you need to complete any outfit. Most of the styles are classic which means they won’t be go out of style in a year or so.
Tory Burch sandals (mine are Vintage Vachetta) will always be a classy option. Yes, they are designer and at a designer price but I plan to wear them for the next fifty years! They are my favorite sandal and I wear them more often than any other in the warmer months.
For a less expensive option, check out these.
The classic pump. I don’t wear these as often as I did when I was younger (like three years ago), but I still put on pair now and then to church, formal events and occasionally to school. A heel elongates your body and elevates your style so a nice pair is always good to have. A basic pointed heel such as these will never go out of style.
Basic booties are a must. I wear my black and tan ones with skirts, dresses, and jeans. Mine are Lucky Brand and not available anymore. These Camutos come in three great colors and are perforated which gives a warmer weather feel.
I cannot say enough about Sperry’s Saltwater Duck Boots. They have been my go-to shoe this rainy winter. They are so durable and will always be considered a classic style. Well worth the money, imo.
A classic brand and style is worth the money. These Frye boots were a Christmas gift year before last and are definitely my favorite winter shoe. I love how they feel and look. The beauty of a good shoe is that it should age well. Hopefully, these will keep getting better and better!
I don’t wear these boots as often but I do like a boot with a heel. They dress up an outfit and give the body a long, lean look. These are Vince Camutos (I just realized how many of his brand I own) and I have this style in brown and black. I wear them with midi dresses, leggings and jeans. Mine are no longer available but here are some similars Steve Madden // Calvin Klein // Vince Camuto
I wish I could tell you to watch and wait for Hunter boots to go on sale but it rarely happens. I waited for awhile before I purchased but finally just sucked it up and paid full price. I went through Amazon, but the price wasn’t any lower than on the Hunter website. I do have to say I’ve never regretted the purchase and like the Sperry’s; I’ve certainly gotten wear out of them this winter.
These Vince Camuto tall boots are my newest shoe purchase. I really like the neutral color (listed as gray, but they look more like taupe). I caught them on sale, which they still are, in select sizes.
Gray slip-ons are so easy to style and very comfortable. These are perfect for running errands or a casual day out.
The Steve Madden leopard flat is about as crazy as I’m willing to go for a statement shoe. I once bought green suede loafers and didn’t wear them for years. They just seemed too green! I still have them and I believe someday I’ll actually wear them.
A statement shoe adds interest to a bland outfit such as this one. Denim, denim and camel cardigan with a splash of animal print.
So there…10 shoes you need that will compliment any outfit you own.
