A Simple Way To Wear A Utility Vest

23 days until my next giveaway!!! This time it’s a two-fer.  One will be chosen from any new subscription in September or October. The other will be anyone already subscribed to my current mailing list. The $20 gift cards will be from Walmart.

Fall break is over for teachers in our district but not for students.  They are out until Monday. I have meetings today and hopefully can work in my room tomorrow. It’s been a nice 3 day break with absolutely beautiful weather.

The orange and white metal pumpkins from Overstock arrived yesterday. I can’t wait to light them up with candles. I’ll have all three on the blog in a few days. Another reason to love October!!!

Today, I’m styling my utility vest with a basic black tee and Sperry Saltwater Duck Boots. I went closet diving for these pieces; nothing new here, but it’s an outfit you can wear time and time again, year after year.

My vest came from Belk and is A.N.A. brand (similar). Here is another option at Rue21 . Yes, I know…the store is much too young for me but a few years ago I was shopping with my daughter and we saw this utility jacket (Camo, red and tan still available) on display. At less than $30, I couldn’t resist. I bought it and have worn it many, many times! So…I guess the moral of this story is to not discount younger themed stores. They are usually much less expensive than department stores and for trendy items; they are so worth it.

I love olive green (don’t we all) but it’s refreshing to see a utility jacket in other colors, like this shabby mauve. This one also comes in olive forest and rodeo dust (where do they come up with these names!) These come from the Junior section so I would def size up.

I’m veering away from jackets here but how great is this Camo shirt? It could easily be worn open and over a tee. The design is muted so if the bolder camouflage print is too much for you, this is a nice option.

Here is hoodie design in antique rose. It also comes in green belt; which to this girl means olive green. It is a full zip top so no having to pull over the head, yay.

Cooler weather ✅, chance of rain ✅, Sperry Duck Boot time ✅✅. Last Sunday, I highlighted a pair of Sperry’s in an oat/gold color. Of course they still carry the basic black/brown like mine but the lighter colors are so pretty!

This necklace probably came from Forever21 but I’m not sure. It’s years old but goes perfectly with this outdoorsy outfit. (Similar //  Similar // Similar)

Diba True Crossbody (similar)
