How To Make Your Utility Vest Summer Friendly

How is your Saturday looking? Mine is busy.

I guess it’s just in my psyche to work on Saturdays. Growing up, Saturdays were work days at home. I helped Mother clean house and mowing the yard was my job.  We owned over 100 acres of farmland so my three brothers were always working around the farm.  That left sweeping the drive and mowing to me. Plus, helping in the house. I definitely wasn’t overworked but I’m sure at the age of ten or so, I believed I was, lol!

Even as an adult, I find I can be lazy, read and rest during the week when not at school, but I plan chores on Saturday.  Oh, don’t worry, I don’t exert myself too much, haha.  When my children were small (they are now 32 and 29), I thought I had to clean my house top to bottom every Saturday!  Do any of you still do this? I don’t anymore.  I sporadically clean during the week, late at night, when I first get up, etc.

I remember when my first husband was playing softball on the weekends.  Wives would be late arriving for Saturday tournaments because they had to finish their house cleaning first.  My, how things have changed!

Sorry for rambling. My post today has nothing to do with house keeping (ancient word).

Put the word olive with utility and you have a trend that just keeps on giving! Adding a utility or cargo vest to a simple outfit elevates the style factor.

These pink Crown & Ivy shorts are still available. This Diba True Crossbody is my favorite for fall. It’s roomy but still comfortable on my hip.

I like how the shoes complete this outfit.  The gladiator sandals are older and came from JCP.  Similar here and here. Similar tank here.

My tank came from Target. Similar animal print tops here and here. Tory Burch Millers seem to go with everything.

Sunglasses here. It’s hard to tell from the pictures but they have the prettiest blue flecks in them.

Striped pants are from H&M. Similar wide leg pants here and here.

My vest came from JCP but it has sold out.  Options below.
