How To Wear A Blanket Scarf & Style Skinnies w Short Booties

I am so thankful for the past two weeks.  It has been a wonderful holiday season.  Back to school for teachers today but students will return Monday.  I love my students and my job but this winter vacation was certainly enjoyed.

Blanket scarves come in the prettiest colors but can be overpowering simply because of their size.  I prefer the front knotted approach.  As I have said before, I have neck issues that can trigger a massive headache if I’m not careful.  The less material I have at the base of my neck, the better.

Also, being a teacher and moving around constantly means wearing a loose covering around my shoulders is not going to happen.  Therefore, a tight front knot gives a nice contrast to my black top but will stay in place and not give me a migraine.

I love the different shades and colors in this scarf.  It was a Christmas gift years ago so I was pretty sure I couldn’t find an exact match.  I linked similar options below.

A couple of weeks ago a friend came by my classroom before school and had me help cuff her skinny jeans correctly.  Do you ever have this problem?  Hers were an easy fix, but this red denim with short booties was a task.  Below were my three options.

First, I cuffed them about an inch.  Ugh! My Target jeans have a light pink color inside.  The eyes immediately go to that spot.  Not attractive.

Next, I tucked them in.  Looks great as long as I don’t sit, walk or move.  They are too short to stay tucked.  I briefly wished for stirrup pants to come back.  Move on to try number 3.

Leave out and try to overlap on top of shoe.  Nope, nope, nope.  Looks bunchy and sloppy.

Sometimes, styling on purpose means knowing when to give up.  Some pants are just not made for ankle boots.  I slipped on knee boots and problem solved 🙂

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Back to school on Monday for me, so I’m enjoying my last vacation days.

I am also on Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook.

I would love to hear from you!
