It’s FriYay!  I guess most people were off yesterday and hopefully today also. Long summer weekends are the best! Mother’s pool party is today. So ironic that we have a pool party every year for her birthday because she doesn’t like any form of water; not pools, oceans or lakes.  She never learned to swim and is actually afraid of going in.

We five children benefited from her fear.  She made sure we all had years of swimming lessons and three of us actually worked as lifeguards in our earlier years. Hey!  Maybe that’s what I could revert back to when I retire from teaching.  Do they hire senior citizen lifeguards???

I wanted to continue the patriotic look so I opted for this outfit today.

The trick to wearing the surplus of fabric wide leg trend is to make sure the top is short, and at least semi-fitted.  I believe my top is a little too loose for this look.  Next time, I will wear a slimmer cut blouse.  It’s all about balance.  Let the pants be the focal point and your other pieces accessorize. BTW, these pants are as comfortable as wearing pajamas!

My pull on pants are from H&M. They have many, many options at great prices.

This cute mustard handbag was an early birthday gift from my sister.  It came in her Stitich Fix box and is made by Urban Expressions. Don’t you just love birthday gifts?
