How To Wear Tops With Feminine Details

Better late than never! My daughter’s new apartment is finally ready…a week and a half later than she was told.  Evidently, the plumbing took longer than expected.  Isn’t that the way it always seems to be?

We plan to drive down Friday and carry the two loads we have.  She actually has boxes and furniture in four different places.  I’m excited to get her moved in because she has been sleeping in her old empty apartment on an air mattress and eating take out.

Feminine detailing is hot this season; styles are sporting ruffles, floral design and lace galore (do people even say galore anymore?).  Evidently I do, lol.

I purchased this Worthington top last year and was not too thrilled with it.  I love loud but this was extra.  It also hit me shorter than normal and I don’t do well with the boxy look.  I kept it and ended up wearing it with a denim jacket and white pants.  Those pieces kind of toned down the top.  It’s growing on me and it actually makes a pretty good picture.

When there’s fullness on top, wear fitted on the bottom.  Skinny jeans or a fitted skirt looks best with a flowy top.

You don’t have to look girly-girly to wear stylish ruffles.  If you like a pared down look; here is a sporty top in basic gray knit.

I love the CeCe Brand but they are a little pricey.  Macy seems to have better sale prices than Belk in this brand.

This black/pink top would look good with black slacks for a work outfit or with jeans for a casual look.  It’s under $16!

White Eyelet Lace always looks clean and fresh.

This Vince Camuto top checks several boxes.  Sheer sleeves, floral print, ruffles.  It would look just as pretty worn on the shoulders.
