Ready, Set, Go! It’s Holiday season! Do You Know What To Wear?

Think lace, velvet or fur.  Add a little sparkle and shine and turn your pieces into a festive ensemble for the holiday season!

What the heck does holiday casual mean anyway???  That seems to be the most common dress code for Christmas parties, especially if they are corporate related.

EmilyPostInstitute.com defines “dress casual” as this:

Women

  • Dress

  • Skirt w dressy top

  • Dressy pants outfit

  • Nice jeans and dressy top

Men

  • Seasonal sport coat or blazer, and slacks

  • Dress shirt, casual button-down shirt, open-collar or polo shirt

  • Optional tie

Adding  “holiday” or “festive” to the dress code simply means incorporating holiday colors or a little sparkle for women and for men, a festive tie (if tie is preferred).

This outift certainly falls on the lower end of dressy. A black dress, a holiday colored sweater and sparkly accessories is pretty casual but it could cut the mustard if needed.  I wore it to church on Sunday but would prefer a little more wow factor for a party.

In the next few days, I plan to hopefully give you style ideas for your upcoming holiday festivities. Comfort will be the ultimate consideration because looking good just doesn’t work if you feel miserable!
