Sometimes A Simple Look Is The Best Look

Good day!  It’s a wonderful day to be alive!  Except for the fact that I have my regular yearly exam this afternoon.  Yuk!!! I know it’s important and I go every year like a good girl but I always dread it.  Oh well, I’m still reading “Girl, Wash Your Face” (Rachel Hollis), so I’ll take her advice, put on a smile, and get it done!

Sometimes simple is best.  “Basic, uncomplicated, without much decoration or adornment” (online def).  I like this meaning.  I think of the simplicity of Audrey Hepburn’s look (black top, black pants, black flats) or Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ style (of course, when sporting Chanel, who needs anything more)?

Understated is classic and black is the most understated color of all. It is hard to photograph but this shirt is made with a twisted knot in the front which gives it a little interest.  If you’ve read many of my posts, you know this girl loves knotted shirts.  It helps define the waist without having to tuck.

Paired with basic William Rast jeans and Topshop sneakers, I’m ready to head out the door in 10 minutes flat!  My kind of prep.

I love a crossbody and if you’ve not drunk the Kool-Aid on this one yet, do it!  It frees your hands for more important things, such as shopping for handbags, shopping for dresses, shopping for shoes…you get my drift.

My top is so old, not sure it even has a label anymore.  Options are linked below.

Few sizes left in this one.

Oh my!  These have just been added to the Nordstrom site.  I saw them last night and they are already in my cart! Snake Skin print and $40!!!

I so appreciate the new subscriptions (I don’t like that word, it makes it sound like there’s a charge to join the email list…there isn’t, lol).  Anyway, thanks to all of you who help support this blog.  I am also on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.

I would love to hear from you!
