Oh happy day, it’s Friday! Even though this weekend will be crazy busy, I’m so glad it’s here! Prep for the baby shower is still going strong. I’m just praying that the heat will not make a deck shower miserable, especially for the expectant mother. We could always move inside but the atmosphere is so nice outside, hoping it will all work out.
But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Saturday football is a tradition around here and we are hoping to have most everything ready ahead of time so we can enjoy the Alabama and Auburn games. Jim is a Roll Tider and I’m a War Eagle all the way. We are respectful enemies though (well, he more than I, lol).
Today, I’m styling a striped midi dress from last year’s closet. I added a denim jacket (cause why not?) and black booties for a different look from this post. A denim jacket is considered a must have staple because of the versatility it gives an outfit. If you don’t own one, run, don’t walk, to your favorite store and grab (well, pay for it first, lol). You will not regret it.
This story has been told before but I think I’ll tell it again! My daughter left her Gap jacket here when she left for college (long ago) and I wore it for years. I began believing it was mine so when she announced one day she was taking it back with her; I was a little lost. How dare she? No warning, nothing! I searched for a few months, trying to decide which brand I wanted because I knew it would be receiving a lot of wear. I decided on the Jessica Simpson Pixie, which isn’t quite as expensive as Gap but a good quality piece nonetheless. Don’t let the “pixie” throw you off, it isn’t short or petite fitting. Mine is a medium and I’m 5’6″ and it fits fine. It’s on sale now at Belk and has a nice extra 25% off thrown in.
I ordered online, which was probably not smart because this item really needs to be tried on for fit and comfort. I was lucky though and I’ve enjoyed the jacket for years.
My black booties are Lucky Brand but I couldn’t find the exact shoe online. Here is an almost exact version.
