The Matching Trend; What Do You Think?

The trend to mismatch has been around for so long, that it’s taking me a minute to get used to the matchy-matchy again.  But, that’s what fashion is; a fluid force that will never remain the same.  Thank goodness for that.  How boring it would be to wear the same exact styles that were worn 10, 20 or 100 years ago.

The Limited Blazer

The Limited Shorts

The shorts suit strikes me as the smartest of the matching outfits. There’s something fresh about it. The floral pattern of this one is so pretty.

Forever21 Beach Wear (top)

Forever21 Beach Wear (pants)

I believe the jumpsuit that’s been so hot the last couple of years has prepped us some for the monochromatic or “pattern play” look.  It’s trendy again this season.

The above outfit could be easily mistaken for a one piece. I love the color combination but be aware that you should probably size up when ordering from this store.  Forever21 usually runs smaller in general.

It would make a nice cover up or beach outfit and F21’s average price point is excellent.

Karen Kane Blazer

Karen Kane Crop Pants

It took a little getting used to but I’m now liking the crop pants with the matching blazer.  A nice heel completes the professional look, while still giving off a modern vibe.

The Limited Baby Blue Blazer

The Limited Wide Leg Crops

The Limited Baby Blue Blouse

The tonal look.  That’s a lot of blue but it’s pastel so it works.  The wide leg crop and sneakers look so fresh and hit the mark.

So…..would you wear matching pieces again or do you need a few seasons to get used to the idea?

If I decide I’m ready for this trend, you will be the first to know and see!

I would love to hear from you!
