Vintage Plaid Midi Skirt | Red Top

I wanted to style a week of plaid and what better way to start than with this vintage top and skirt?

I checked online to see how old an article of clothing must be to be considered vintage.

According to Wikipedia, “…clothing which was produced before the 1920s is referred to as antique clothing and clothing from the 1920s to 20 years before the present day is considered vintage”.

Score!  I can trace this skirt to ’96-’97 and the top back to at least ’99.  I’m calling that a win and deeming this a vintage outfit!  Also, FYI, “retro stands for retrospective… (&) usually refers to clothing that imitates the style of a previous era”.  (Wikipedia)

Sorry for the long info; sometimes the teacher in me creeps out!

The black patent vinyl bag is so generic there is no tag!  It’s probably a decade old.  I really pulled from the back of my closet for this post!

For heels, these ankle straps are very comfortable.  They are really showing wear and tear though so I need to think about replacing.  I just hate giving up a favorite shoe, don’t you?

I’ve been asked recently about two particular posts; I’m linking them here.  You can always go to the bottom or side bar and select any past post you would like to see.

The flare leg jean is my new fall favorite.  The half tuck post has also been popular so you can click here and here if you wish to see them again. Thanks for the feedback.  You are awesome!!!

Week of plaid begins tomorrow.  Do you love plaid as much  as I do?  I’ll be styling my favorite colors of plaid many different ways.  Maybe even some you haven’t tried yet!
