Tacos & Tutus Baby Shower and Deck Makeover

Celebrating a baby is one of life’s most rewarding and exciting events. I am 57 and about to become a grandmother for the first time. This baby girl will be the first grandchild on both sides and the first great-grandchild on my side. To say we are thrilled is an understatement. The baby shower was a success and we all enjoyed celebrating this new life. Thanks to everyone who came!

No, my son didn’t stay much longer than it took to snap these maternity pictures. As a matter of fact, he said after about 30 minutes “I’m about the leave, this shower business is making me nervous”. Why are men this way? What exactly are they afraid of, lol.

The tacos and tutus theme was comprised of a simple taco bar with all the fixins and simple decorations. The view from the deck is nice so it served as a perfect backdrop.

My daughter Kara can’t wait to be a first time aunt!

This was a small family/friend gathering and we served around twenty. Decor and games were awesome (thanks Lana). We had a simple taco bar featuring shredded chicken, beef and queso (thanks Wendy) plus several toppings (as you can see). The cake was a 3 tiered wedding cake (thanks Vicky) with artificial succulents/flowers. Bouquet is from Publix ($14.99) and fit the theme perfectly. As you can see, it took a village but the shower flowed perfectly and I hope all had as much fun as I did!

Lakeview Deck Remodel

All of the products were purchased at Lowes, Walmart and Overstock.

There are four main sitting areas on this deck.

I hope you enjoyed my detour from fashion today. It’s been a busy few weeks preparing for the shower.  Now, Daisey Kent; we are ready for you to arrive!

Thank you for visiting today. Back to fall fashion tomorrow! I am also on Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook.

I would love to hear from you!
